bullets go through glass

gatling turrets can target grids that are behind non-targetable (no functional blocks) ones and their projectiles hit both the glass and the blocks behind it before it breaks. It might be because the glass's hitbox is thinner than the distance the projectiles step each tick

We tried to reproduce the issue on our side, and the turret's projectiles only passed through once the glass panels were completely destroyed.

Since we weren't able to reproduce the behavior you described, could you please send us the world save in which you experienced this issue?

Additionally, could you confirm whether the issue occurred in a modded world (with active MODs) or in a vanilla (unmodded) world?

If it occurred in a modded world, please create a new, fresh vanilla (unmodded) world and check whether the issue can be reproduced there. Please note that simply removing MODs from an existing world does not always eliminate mod-related issues, as mod dependencies or leftover data may still remain in the world files.

If the issue also occurs in a vanilla world (or if your original world was already unmodded), please send us the affected world save. If there are any specific steps that consistently lead to the issue, we'd appreciate it if you could include those as well, as they would help us investigate and reproduce the issue.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

the world is vanilla this is my creative testing world and I have used it since encountering the bug so the player is no longer in the same position. the observed behavior is intermittent and the crafts may have to be moved slightly to get into correct alignment? for this to occur. the bullets can also go through small grid armor panels, and would probably do the same with large grid ones if they could maintain target lock for long enough. the grids are unfortunately no longer at the location where this problem was first observed

I have no idea how targeting and shooting works internally, but it might be relevant if the thing shooting is a station or a ship. I have not noticed this bug when the turret was part of a station (factorum bio-research facility) or with ships using only static guns (factorum railgun drone). It happenwd for the first time with the high profile transport ship, so that might be an additional clue.
