Won't Fix

Even at the very beginning of a save (with no more than 30,000 pcu being used) I am consistently seeing fps drops with the 'Scene Too Complex' popup.

Pc Specs:

OS: Windows 11

Ram: 16GB

Hello Mark,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

Could you please share a bit more information about this issue?

Does it occur in a Single Player world or in a Lobby/Multiplayer server?

Is the world/server modded (any active mods)?

If so, could you try reproducing the issue in a vanilla (unmodded) world/server and let us know if it still occurs?

Additionally, please try the following steps:

  • Lower your graphics settings (Options → Graphics → Quality Preset)
  • Toggle Vertical Sync (Options → Display → Vertical Sync On/Off)
  • On this same screen, check if the correct (dedicated) GPU is selected in the Video Adapter dropdown
  • Also, use a recommended aspect ratio (marked with *** in-game) in Video Mode option

The game may prompt a restart after changing these settings.

Also, please check for any pending updates for your Windows 11 OS and graphics drivers.

Once updated, start the game and try reproducing the issue in a new vanilla (unmodded) Empty World. You can paste grids or create new ones to test.

If the issue still occurs, please send us a screen recording/video showing the issue, along with the log file (named as SpaceEngineers_) from the time the issue occurred. This will help us investigate further.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,
