1.209 broke gps grid search
Submitted
Covering ground with the hand drill or any detector has had a workable, efficient dance for as long as I can remember: fly out along a radial to however far you like, turn right, fly a few hundred meters depending on detector and whatever, delete any old radial-tip marker, add a "new from current pos" marker, set it always-visible, fly back along the new diameter to the other side, repeat.
But now deleting the old radial-top marker and adding the new one does not select the new one, whatever was below the deleted marker on your gps list is selected so you have to hunt-and-peck, It was muscle memory, fast and reliable. Now it's tedious and hit-and-miss.

I have the same bug
I see
in the release notes, but the problem here is you didn't just fix the issue with GPS markers added in the background stealing the edit focus, you also broke setting the edit focus to GPS markers added in the foreground. When I add a "new from current pos" marker myself I don't just want any changes I make to affect that marker, that is (at a guess, by far) the most common scenario for editing a marker's attributes: using the UI to set the visibility and color of the marker you just now added via the UI.
