Solved

Though I not had the issue my self from my understanding if you use the method of joining a friend through steam you load intonthebworld but get stuck in a spectator cam like the image attach shows.

Here discord links to cincersation came up with as well:

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

Could you please let us know which version of the game this issue is occurring?

Was your friend able to join you successfully in the past, or has this issue been occurring since the beginning?

Can your friend join you via the Join Game screen's Friends tab, without any issues?

Also, is your world or lobby using any MODs? If so, does the same issue occur when you try hosting a vanilla (unmodded) world or lobby?

This information will help us better understand the issue and provide possible solutions.

Kind Regards,

I'm having the same issue.

Im on 1.206.032.

Yes.

Neither their nor my friends tab has ever worked.

Same issue occurs in modded and vanilla.

We've both verified our game files, restarted steam, updated everything, and still nothing has worked.

Hello Engineer,

Thanks for the update! To help us see exactly what’s going on, could you please record a short video showing the steps you take when joining your friend? Ideally, we’d like to see how you press the join button and what happens right after — just so we can catch any oddities in the process.

No need to make it fancy — even a quick screen capture will do. It’ll really help us narrow things down faster.

Well thats not a great example, he either gets stuck at 100% or gets sent to the center of the world in spectator and cant do anything

Hello Engineers,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

Since this is an older issue, we would like to check if it has already been resolved in the meantime.

If not, could you please confirm whether it is the same issue as the one reported here ;

Infinite loading or streaming when joining P2P multiplayer server | Space Engineers PC Support

If it is, kindly let us know if following the workaround described there solved the issue?

If not, we would appreciate it if you could provide us with the log files (from both the host and the clients) so we can investigate further.

  • You (all players and host) can access log files by typing %appdata% into the Windows search bar → navigate to Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind regards,

The post worked. Their solution is what helped. Changing our download regions and using the ingame server browser let Josh join. Thanks!

Hello Stonelords,

We’re glad to hear that the workaround solved the issue for you. Please note, that this is only a temporary workaround and not a permanent fix. As mentioned above, we already have an internal ticket to address this issue, and we kindly ask you to keep an eye on the reported thread for any updates.

For now, we’ll be closing this thread as 'Solved.' However, if you encounter any other issues, please don’t hesitate to open a new thread.

Happy Engineering!

Kind regards,
