Hey guys,

There are rumors spreading like wildfire that this game has been shoved in the closet at your office and forgotten. We need news. And not the "we won't abandon ME" line that keeps being tagged to the end of every SE News update.

A roadmap. Press Release, Sneak peak, A tentative projection of when the next update might happen, Something. Its been radio Silence and the native are very restless. It's to the point your getting negative reviews on steam for it.

Please, Communication with your customers is a key factor of a project like this. We have invested into this game. We deserve some form of communication. I love this game and your vision, as many of us do. Please start throwing us a bone once in a while so that we know were appreciated.

Sincerely yours,

The paying customer.

Keen moved all development to SE and will develop ME after SE has been finished

And doesn’t that mean they’ve abandoned us for a while (anyway)? Should we stop playing ME because two-thirds of the game is broken? I think about catch blocks, and modders who don't want, don't have time for or can't upgrade their mods in 0.7 ?

I don't know if KEEN abandoned it, but I did. KEEN has no idea what to do with ME. Every new feature makes the game worse. From the uselessly giant planet, to the useless ores, the failure to fix the physics and catchblocks, to the newest useless reskin that rebroke so many previous fixes. They have no idea what to do with the title.

Almost 3 months with no development or patches. It's abandonware.

Keen, we need answers. Been voicing this for the past months, but no answer. What is going on exactly at the offices?

Their silence is your answer.

Fully agreed

Medieval Engineers Is On a HALT In Development, Space Engineers Is What Their Working On Right Now With Maybe 95% Attention, S.E Is Getting More Updates/ DLCs As Time Passes, That Might Be The Same With M.E After S.E Fully Got Developed, Be Patient, Keen Didn't Abandon Medieval Engineers, They Just Went To S.E As It Got WAY More Attention Then M.E So They Wanted to Keep Up with it.

What the problem is that nobody from Keen Software House is giving us any kind of response much less the time of day. Every forum and support portal we've asked for updates Keen has claimed to read all tickets but they have not responded. They stated that they are moving all development to space engineers but they've left us in the dark for going on 4 months now. It wouldn't be hard to have them tell one of the moderators to Simply respond

This is vastly disappointing. Every time i try to play this game it crashes. I can't load saved games and often cant start new ones.

Hopefully Keen does something soon on this, otherwise I'll be abandoning BOTH Space Engineers & Medieval Engineers out of spite.

If you as a paying customer were to buy any other product you would be covered by a warranty of some sort.

Yes I know this is technically early access, but this is simply being used as an excuse by this developer to ignore fundamental problems with the game that prevent play. I cannot believe that Space Engineers is from the same developer. Basic problems, like simply not saving settings, are well documented on here but I have not seen any response or help from the developer. Simply ignored. BEWARE EARLY ACCESS. A massive loophole to sell you an unfinished, and likely never will be, product. Never again!

Poor business maneuver on Keen's behalf this shelving of ME. I don't understand why they bumped to version .7 (with all it's wonderful new bugs) and stopped mid stream. If this pause was foreseeable, Me should have been left at the tail end of version .6 before all the modders updated. Version .6 was passable as it stood. Version .7 is buggy enough to be a deal-breaker for continued playability. I was curious and getting ready to try SE.......but I'm 100% positive to hold off on any other Keen products unless they are good to their word in returning to ME. Again.....that's business. I have no intention of throwing good money after bad. Keen can make all the announcements about returning to ME they want, action from Keen will prove their metal or not.

Because not that much info is being given out here is what I think is going on from info I heard.. The ME team moved to work on SE 100% so keen is basically solely focusing on SE ME is not abandoned but they will most likey continue it after SE is done.

Tbh tho what keen is doing with both games (I think) is starting to get ridiculous.

No REAL bugfixes since February.

- No way to block first attack of barbarians

- Several icon bugs, leading to confusion (treasure maps for example)

- Crop Production is NOT duable since it locks a block that you need

- Barbarians stuck in doors/gates literally explode

- Wall Walks are broken, you can't place them on places you should be able to

- CROSSBOW BREAKING IN HAND PARALYSES YOU (full caps, since it is literally in the game since Crossbows, and it breaks the game)

- Bugged outlines

- Terrible lags on a strong PC, with short render distance

- Random SimSpeed drops from 1.00 to 0.3 for a minute or so

- And many mooooooore

Keen, even if you don't release a single content update, at least fix your damn game to a state where it is NOT frustrating to play!

They should have sold ME to Tim 'Deepflame' T. so he could continue to invest his energy into this project while grouping some dedicated volunteers around him.

Since he left KEEN SWH and the ME team got dissolved/rest integrated into SE team it feels abandoned, or shelved for later, which is for the time being the same thing.

I understand SE is KEEN's main income source now and has to be milked as the hype keeps it running, while sales of ME seem to have been disappointing back in last year so they regrouped ressources. Meanwhile the playerbase of ME suffers and shows signs of desintegrating. Reviews turn into negative on Steam. So I am afraid that marketing step has an even worsening effect if nothing is done pretty soon to revive ME.

Let me close with a call to the fans to not entirely give up hope and abandon the ship. There is nothing like ME out there. If we stop calling KEEN on behalf of ME they may think the fans are gone and there is even less reason to restart efforts on that project. We have to remind KEEN of the fact there are still people loyal to ME and, when the time comes to support ME with DLC (which is sure to happen once it is released, in the fashion SE is handled) purchase, will step up to support the game also with financial contributions. I mean, I won't have trouble with buying a few extra blocks for like 4.99 Euros, just for getting ME roll on the road of success.

I bought ME years ago and I loved it! When they introduced planets I was very frustrated because I either had to play with a black sky or face the fact that I could not import most of my creations - building that I devoted hundreds of hours of time creating that stretched all over the valley I was in.

I noticed some of the really cool new stuff recently (January 2020), so I went to an old version and blueprinted as much as I could, determined to try the new stuff out. I was so glad that I did! Even though the castles and huge public works that I had created could not be imported - I loved the new stuff I hadn't seen before - farming, mining, mechanical blocks, crafting items. I have put in a bunch of hours creating new things and exploring.

I finally decided to try and import one of my blueprints - a cathedral that was situated on a hillside and rather tricky to place. I finally managed it after 5-6 tries, and it still broke in places, but it was repairable. Well, then all of a sudden, the game would not save. It no longer autosaves, and hitting save or save as do nothing at all. I can load the games that I have already saved and play them - but what is the point when I cannot make any progress?

I began looking for answers in the Steam Community and wondered why all of the discussions seemed to be locked. Finally, I found my way here and see this thread. I am deeply distressed by the apparent abandonment of this game. I would be willing to live with its problems and quirks if I could do something so basic as save the game.

Maybe Keen needs to concentrate on SE for awhile to get it completed - fine - but spend some minimal amount of time with game-killing bugs like this one!

Extremely upset and disappointed.

SE was pushed as finished and left beta officially on February 28, 2019. Notice not one single Keen mod replied to this post. That should speak for itself. 8 months later, no reply. A simple "We're working on things, sorry for the delay" would be sufficient.

No jobs on their site are hiring for Medieval Engineers. also they mention an "unannounced project" in which they are hiring for.

I was told within the past month Marek posted in a blog also in live stream and said that they have not abandoned ME. I have faith in them, will be waiting patiently. Let's just hope for a smooth Xbox launch of SE so they can focus on their new game as well as ME. Let's not give up!

Update: Yes it has been abandoned/finished. The guy on the forum stated he heard Marek say it wasn't abandoned in a blog yet could be not be proved or linked.

Here is proof for some closure.
