Cargo container access only on small ports

I added a bunch of 1.5m cargo container to my Acquila. while I was working at the Manufacturing Facility (Supply & Demand contract). After landing on the delivery container put some component and ore and to deposit the required components, I wandered through the ship and tried to check what free space I had. The 1.5m access ports on the cargo containers had stopped responding while the 0.5m ports still worked.
I'm hoping that it was a glitch and the it was not be there when I load thee save in the morning. If it is still there, I'll upload the save.

Is it the same problem? I was seeing it with small containers, small gas tanks, small ports on connectors. But , it was there for while and then 'fixed' itself. I did wonder if it was because of the number of full containers I had but then I got access back. I also had a couple of instances of parking on Vallation station and not getting access to the station's conveyor networks (even though the connectors looked happily locked). That came back after tapping P a lot.
