Take ownership of found grids

Not Enough Votes

This was previously suggested here but really needs addressed and apparently didn't get enough votes. We need the ability to take over ownership of grids especially or specifically NPC grids.

Found asteroid bases you like or npc ships floating around, or renegade bases etc? You should be able to take them without rebuilding them via blueprints etc. <insert some clever method to do it lore wise here>.

Even if we can't end up taking over the major ones like Vallis Reach or whatever that is fine, and maybe makes sense. But all the outposts, and other places you come across just sitting there most certainly should be able to be taken over without destroying and rebuilding them completely.

I think it can lead to some level of exploiting the game. If you can take ownership of any ship, in some way building new grids became less motivating, if you can modify/own a stolen/defeated ship or base.

But I would not reject the idea totally but maybe tie to some contract or development level later. Or maybe an advanced building block that changes the ownership from NPC to yours.

Also, even driving a captured ship can lead to FUNNY moments.

I used a captured Renega Dropship with automatic miniguns. One gun was lost in the the combat, another was reparable. I parked the ship at my base and activated the minigun and it inmediately started to destroy all my ships and buildings in range. Probably the stolen ship still considered me as enemy and fired upon my grids. (I still use it for transport with switched off gun)

Taking over grids should not require you to rebuilding anything. It itedious and boring. It should be possible to hack blocks either one by one or with area hacking as described in this topic. Ofc if you want to get a fully functional ship or base under your control, current ownrs will simpoly kill you. You will need to conquer the thing before you can think about taking it ower completly. Abandonded semi destructed grids no one really owns anymore are generally not as valuable and might be considered as legitimate salvage , a true alternative progression path for those who don't like traditional mining/production as much. And it can serve nicely for "start with nothing" scenario.
