I love space engineers 2 and was excited to see the Classic Survival option with all blocks opened. I started my game and was able to build a ship capable to get to Vallation Station only to find that I can only transport to Kemik if I complete your contracts. Again. I realized the many like the shoot em up bang bang but I DO NOT. So, I'm sidelined because I'm unable to move to Kemik to obtain resources that I needed to build features that cannot be made at Verdure. I"m probably not the only one who does NOT want to fight with automated guns to check off the boxes needed to gain access to other resources. Love the work, don't loved the approach.

I have a draft proposal that addresses a similar issue to the one you mentioned. Of course, it's only a starting point, and with feedback from the community it could be refined into something much more suitable for SE2. The main idea is that players should progress naturally by engaging in activities related to the blocks they want to unlock. For example, earning XP through mining to unlock mining-related blocks, or gaining XP by completing combat missions and attacking enemy bases to unlock combat and weapon-related blocks. The proposal is essentially an attempt to design a progression system where players unlock blocks using XP earned through relevant gameplay.
There are already some great ideas in the comments, and I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts as well:
