Contract - Renegade Suppression issues

Version .2113

Some things noted on this contract. Please remember this is for a new player walkthrough. This contract's difficulty level is extremely high compared to other contracts, even contracts in other sectors. It requires experience and troubleshooting that most new players will not know about. There's no "hand holding" in this contract as there is in every known contract in SE2.

1) The conveyor line does not show an orange objective as with other contracts.

2) There are no instructions to place ice into the convey line for the O2/H2 generator to power the missile.

3) Sitting in the control seat does not have a toolbar button to trigger the missile launch. The player must assume that disconnecting the connector will cause the missile to launch.

4) The fighter jet gatling cannons are not marked with an orange marker.

5) The contract doesn't tell the player they need to manufacture gatling ammo for the fighter jet.

6) There should probably be another step in the contract to return to the base so that the player knows where to go back to instead of having to look around and choosing an asteroid.

In my opinion, this is the best contract in SE2. All of the other contracts are simple welding contracts (basically). However, I feel this contract is too advanced to have in the Verdure sector unless it has the same hand holding as all of the other contracts do. I wish more contracts were like this to make the player think and have to figure out and solve real problems. Everybody enjoys a good puzzle.

Currently, the gatling bullets are invisible, but I see someone else already reported that bug.

Adding on. How do I complete this mission? I have destroyed the marked targets in the rebel base and there is a location marked on the control seat in the missile base. But nothing happens when I return to the missile base control seat.

While I agree with SuperDK7 that this is one of the better contracts, I disagree with the hand-holding request.

There is an issue with this contract that I point out in this post: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers2/pc/topic/55823-suggestions-for-contract-renegade-suppression. In short, make sure you sit in the control seat after you have fueled the missile, and do not launch the missile through any means other than through the control seat. If you get stuck because you've launched the missile too soon, abandon the contract, then re-accept the contract.

In my opinion, adding hand-holding to this contract takes away from the point of this game. This game is about engineering, which is all about problem-solving. Your first objective is to get the missile ready for launching. The instructions give you the basics of what is needed. You can see the conveyor as a projection to build. You can see the fighter has gatling gun projections to build. Now, with problem-solving skills, you have to think. "I need to complete the conveyor". But the task objective is still not met...what am I missing? Fuel. The missile needs fuel. How do I get fuel to the missile? Oh, there's an O2/H2 generator connected in. It needs ice. Where can I get ice? and so on...

Even then, you can complete the contract without using or even touching the fighter. In fact, I suspect you can complete the contract without even launching the missile, though it must be fueled. Once you sit in the control seat, you can probably head right over to the enemy base and grind down all the targets to complete the contract.

In my opinion, if you have to be hand-held through all that, you are missing the point of this game.

I have the same problem. I did everything in order as suggested: Completed the seat, completed the conveyors and added ice to cargo container. The missile started thrusting. I went to the seat and hit P to launch the missile. The missile launched and hit the target base turret. Then I went to the target base and destroyed the remaining 2 targets. Contract status didn't chage. Orange indicator kept showing the seat. The contract is stuck. It looks like a bug in my case.

best to abandon the contract and then accept it again. I had that happen to me, but I thought it was because I spent an hour grinding down the enemy base. The 2nd time it worked fine, but I only spent a couple of minutes at the enemy base the 2nd time.
