game gets sluggish over time

The game has definitely improved performance over the past few months but still notice a memory leak affecting the GPU RAM slowly getting maxed out then the game stuttering and becoming unresponsive. Usually after about 2-3 hours of play, sooner if I am very active and moving around the world a lot or doing a lot of production stuff. I have noticed that turning V-sync on seems to prolong this from happening.

I'm experiencing a similar issue, so I'll comment here instead of making my own post.
Several hours into my file, performance has degraded to an almost unplayable state, with the simulation freezing roughly 50% of the time, despite a stable framerate. All inputs are completely ignored during these freezes. Monitoring on task manager, CPU usage on my "Welcome to Almagest" save is double, or even higher than a fresh "Vallation Station Start."
EDIT: I forgot to clarify that my poorly performing save file has very little going on currently, as I'm still progressing through the Vallation contracts and only has whatever structures & ships were generated by the game.
I have attached what I believe is the correct log file. There was going to be a recording too, but it was taking too long to upload, and due to convoluted circumstances, can't be done overnight.

My pc is old, but through upscaling, I have been able to play the game smoothly at 60fps, with even the scripted destruction sequence in the introduction running a lot smoother than VS2.0.
