Critical bugs in ship control and destruction handling

Need More Information

During gameplay, I encountered several serious issues. First, I noticed a persistent, intrusive sound of engines running at full power - even though the ship was parked on the planet’s surface and the engines were not actually active. The sound continued unabated, creating a false impression that the propulsion systems were operating at maximum capacity.

Next, I ran into a take‑off problem: after landing, the ship seemed to be “stuck” to the surface - despite attempts to engage the engines, it couldn’t lift off, as if it were trapped in the terrain textures. Moreover, the attached video shows that at the end I deliberately positioned the ship - and the same vessel successfully takes off from the planet under active gravity. It’s important to note: the ship wasn’t overloaded, just like the one that had issues at the beginning.

Finally, another critical bug emerged when attempting to destroy the ship: at the moment of destruction, the game began to severely lag and then froze completely for several minutes.

Had another incident with my ship getting glued to the ground. Its like there is an invisible attraction field getting to close to voxels. The ship has been doing fine with the weight its been at way more, but I'm still getting handling like I'm over weighing the craft, Inertial dampeners are also extubating the issue. to note as well the space ship was acting top heavy before it crashed after I got out of the hole, the roll was heavily delayed and not allowing me to stabilize and holding roll down for a second will nearly roll me over. I don't know what to call this as a bug other than glue, anyways tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

Yes, I encountered exactly the same issue. My spaceship, after landing on the ground, was unable to take off afterward, despite having done so without any problems before. I even recorded a video to illustrate the situation clearly. The footage shows the ship seemingly stuck to the surface as if glued, even though it had taken off smoothly previously.

Just a suggestion maybe just vote on currently existing posts if they match your bug. We don't want the devs having sifting through the same bug over and over again.

Hello Zivals,

The persistent sound of thrusters being audible when a ship is parked by either Landing Gear or Connectors is already fixed on our internal environment and should be shipped as a part of VS2.2.

As for the issues with lift off and lag after destruction - does it occur on any other ship or just the one in the provided video? Does the Ship have enough power to distribute for the thrusters? Does the upwards thrust is enough for the Ship's weight?

Kind Regards,

Bartosz

Thank you for the update on the engine sound issue - great to hear it’s already fixed!

Regarding the take‑off problems you asked about: the issue with ships getting stuck to the ground and being unable to take off wasn’t limited to the vessel shown in the video, it occurred on several different ships. What’s important is that before this bug manifested, all affected ships had sufficient engine power and demonstrated normal take‑off capabilities during previous attempts. The thrust‑to‑weight ratio was adequate, and the ships were able to lift off without any issues until the “sticking” problem suddenly occurred.

I haven’t encountered this problem recently, as I’ve been mostly focused on ship construction rather than piloting. However, if the issue arises again, I’ll make sure to record a video demonstration to help with further troubleshooting.

Thank you for your work on the game. Looking forward to version 2.2:)

@Zivals Id almost contribute it to an extra collider on the landing gear, maybe for ground detection, is getting stuck under the ground mesh. It almost reminds me of when you get a part of a ragdoll in garrys mod through the map and it kinda gets stuck or modded vehicles getting their wheel collider stuck.
