Drill Fire Effects

The "fire" effects on the drill, while cool looking, don't make any sense. I could understand a dust effect or rubble, but the orange "flame" effect is very out of place in my opinion.

I totally agree with this, It makes absolutely no sense for the drills to create fire effects, Alongside that the drill-head does not look very good..

I agree. The square drills make no real sense.

I agree, it is a neat effect but why would there be fire by friction in a vacuum?

Remove the fire effects, ore and rock is not that flammable.

Use dust and particle debris with a few sparks here and there, not a wild fireball.

Figure out what ores may have a more "dusty", "rusty" or "sparky" look to them when drilling to vary the special effects.

If the colour of the dust related to the resource being mined it would be helpful.

As for the drill head it does not look like an upgrade.

The design of the drill is strange indeed. Idk, .. must be the new keen team coming up with new strange ideas.

One developer mentioned you do not need oxygen to make friction heated materials glow, whit which i agree.

But you need time and lots of friction to heat up materials that way. The rapid removal rate of voxels would not leave lots of time for them to be heated to a temperature high enough to give out the fiery glow which is above 500 C.

Also the red fire is disrupting visibility, and you can imagine it gets very annoying after hours of mining. Same as some ingame sounds.

sadly developers do not catch on, like they do not play the game.
