Adding a logic layer to a grid

A core mechanics that will simplify creating a moving parts on ship/grid. System the games like Scrap Mechanic or the Stormworks: Build and Rescue have. A grid layer that will allow manual connection of parts' logic nodes between each other and manipulating their input/output signals using basic mathematics skills, not a programming ones. That's really the only thing i am missing in Space Engineers. It will greatly increase the amount of creation possibilities and ease the entry for anyone who isn,t familiar with a coding.

I feel like something like this, or adding other logic related blocks more complicated than the Event controller (for example) might hinder the game a lot. A lot of scripts are already needed in SE1 for a bunch of basic stuff, and for those who aren't as good at building ships (like me), having to worry about an additional set of stuff to set up would be painful.
