DLSS support

Under Consideration

Yeah, DLSS support would be great. Actually the game only supports AMDs FSR. For NVidia owners DLSS is always better.

Agreed, the game looks gorgeous now, and it would be nice to have it look good and have high fps

Completely agree! I've noticed several visual problems with the FSR implementation. The game is beautiful but suffers from upscaling artifacts. I also think that more in-depth upscaling settings are needed, such as the ability to choose the rendering resolution.

Hi,

Are you sure the AMD FSR is actually used for increasing framerate by rendering lower resolution + upscaling ?

Because it is in antialiasing settings, and is decreasing framerate...

But I agree that they should add DLSS/FSR/XeSS for Super Resolution ! (We can even dream of frame generation)

Yeah, I also couldn't find any settings in the files that would point to upscaling. It looks like FSR is only used for AA so far. So it would be generell nice if the would support upscaling for better performance and give users a option to set up the render resolution. But maybe the have planed that, but for later and not so early in development where it maybe could cause extra troubles for them.

i was actually kinda suprised not to see it given the raytracing, but also the incoming DLSS4 and MFG improvements are DRASTIC and would work wonders here especially for people playing on higher resolutions

Right, and also for not so strong graphic cards. Even my 4090 comes to its limits in 4K maxed out and with FSR AA. DLSS 4.0 could do here wonders. But so far I have seen from frame generation, I'm not really a fan of it.

FG is very good to get a "high-smoothness" once you already have a smooth game. For ex pushing 80-120 fps to 160-240 fps. But it is certain that if the GPU achieves only 20-30 fps initialy, then the ML algorythm just does not have enough data to work with (or more correctly, too much differences/time between the know data) and you end up with too much artifacts :-) (you would do the same errors if you try to guess the position of a hand of someone waving "hello" if you only have a picture of him every 2 secondes for ex.)

Agreed. Absolutely needed and wanted! I used it in each game that supported it when gaming on 4k, else it won't be playable that good.

For older cards (nvidia 3x series for example) dlss + raytracing are the only good working condition, especially when it comes to higher resolutions like 4k.

my success on FG is hit or miss some games it does wonders ,and some like NMS im lucky to break 10 fps with it on turn it off and bam 120 fps ,other games like cyberpunk and scum and once human works amazingly and all these games are on max/epic settings ive also use lossless scaling with some success on games like star citizen ,i should try it on nms to see if there approach is better the hello games at it lol

ryzen 7 5700x

64 gb ram

rtx 4060

and playing on 2560x1440

@James Ile: with DLSS4 or the older DLSS3.x? Because DLSS4 seems a huge improvement, also on FG. But yeah, some games may need a update to support FG right. Especially the DLSS4 overwrite works on some game and on some not at all (game even crashes).

to be honest im not really sure what version the games it works great with and the ones that don't are using because they all just say DLSS would be nice if it told me in the settings plus im also to lazy to go looking for to deep

Yeah, can understand that. NVidia has a registry entry to put information about DLSS on, but of course they made it not easy for players to put that information on/off in their overlay.

Yea got FSR but that isn't enough, it works on Nvidia fine enough but its super under utilized on it. DLSS would be a dream.

how is it this

Need Invert Mouse Y-Axis in Space Engineers 2 that only got 54 votes and is in progress but this topic has 79 votes so far and not even in consideration whats the line a topic has to cross to get considered?

Seems to Keen decide that from case to case and how important they think it is. Maybe they simply don't want to deal with DLSS so early in development and have that later in development already on their plan. And inverting mouse is in their eyes more important so they gave it a go for earlier implementation.

At least that's what I can quickly make out.
