Classic start should be randomly placed
Under Consideration
As stated in the title the Classic start should place you in a random spot on verdure. Spawning in the same spot each time makes it difficult to have variety in initial base placement. You might end up with making the same designed base in the same location making for a boring game start.

I would actually like to see the campaign start to also be (a little) randomized. It feels odd that your escape pod lands twenty feet away from a base/min/atmospheric ship that is immediately exactly what you need to get to the next step. I know, it's a tutorial, but I mean, is it so bad if you land over a ridge, maybe one hill over? Down the valley a little ways? You still have the waypoint that tells you where to go, but the instant gratification of a waypoint fifty feet away 'go here', walk 50 feet, 'congratulations', walk to next waypoint...etc Feels a little oversimplified. Maybe I'm missing the point and everyone does indeed want to have each next step be right there and quickly finishable. A little randomness and distance between objectives seems like a good thing to me.

It should be a drop pod landing from outer space like se1 then we can move it little on the fall down to the planet and we can try pick a spot to land

They would have to make it an actually game feature then, instead of a saved world where they have already completed 27% of the "colonization".
It's very telling that there is no standard sandbox start without their story line. Very disappointing. We can no longer.,.. just play. We have to be led around. We HAVE to do a particular story, instead of just whatever we want.

Yeah, the parachute random spawn is so iconic to 'Space Engineers', hope they bring it back for here. For the FTUE, they can have a 'default' spawn location for each planet, with an option for a parachute random drop location and/or random planet/moon, in Classic Survival Starts. There is a 'fairness' to the random parachute drop, for players.

The primary benefit to the parachute drop being somewhat random is the variety of each start even on the same planet. This is part of the feedback in the 'move the tutorial to pre crash' feedback also as the starting location would no longer be tied to some specific tutorial walkthrough. You could drop anywhere on the planet (or any planet) at that point.
It would also be nice if the stations in orbit around the various planets (less so for the ones in deep space) had a number of locations at random, so that it wasn't always directly overhead of the starting location, or always exactly int he same spot in space.

Randomised starting spot is crucial for replay ability. Why would I play a survival game if I've already played that exact survival game? Even if I did play the same survival game in the same location 2 times. What if I want to see what I'd do differently if I spawned on top of a snowy mountain? Or in the desert? Or in a forest?
What if I want a random laugh by watching myself drop awkwardly and roll down a mountain into god knows where?
The random start doesn't need to be perfect.
The random start doesn't need to be in just the right spot next to all ores.
The random start doesn't need to be near the colonisation contracts.
It should be random...
...with a chance of awkward
...and a chance of unexpected total scarcity
...and a chance of being so annoyingly high up that I don't realise atmos thrust doesn't properly work until I try to get back up there while fully loaded
...and a chance of any other potentially hindering or dangerous anomalies like the perfect stormy spot.
That keeps people playing again and again.
