Game crashes when welding thrusters
Need More Information
Every time I weld a Hydrogen thruster my game crashes. this has been happening since 22/01/2026 as such I have been unable to play the game at all
I have the same bug

Thank you for providing logs. From these I can see that the problem lies in Conveyor system. Does this crash occurs also when welding Conveyor parts? Can you weld other types of thrusters without any issue?

I can weld everything else, including conveyors. It only crashes when welding small hydrogen thrusters.
If it is linked to conveyors, I could try welding them when they're attached to normal blocks and get back to you.

ok so something weird happened. I placed a few small thrusters on normal blocks (no conveyors linkage) and was able to weld them. then I went back to my ship and was able to weld 3 or 4 small hydrogen thrusters. I then welded an ion thruster, then went back to the small hydrogen ones and the game crashed again. game logs attached

I wonder if this is the welding projection bug... When you say the game crashes, does it crash (exits or produces a crash dump) or does it freeze/hang?

Both. Sometimes it just crashes straight to desktop. Other times it freezes but the sound still plays for a short time and I get the "wait to respond" box

This may be due to a memory leak issue that another user discovered while adding blocks to a grid. It turns out that the memory leak occurs whenever we enter the inventory menu, sometimes welding, and also when grinding. The entire SE2 game must be closed to free the memory, not just leaving the world. Until this memory leak issue is fixed then all sorts of things can happen. I'm assuming the memory leak issue may be the cause of many in-game bugs, but we won't know until it is fixed.
