Bug Report: GPU stops working when welding projection from 0

Summary:

When starting to build a projection from scratch using the welder tool, the game stops utilizing the GPU. The game process remains active, but rendering ceases completely.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a projection of any object.
  2. Begin welding the projection from 0% completion using the welder.
  3. Observe GPU usage dropping to 0 and rendering stopping.

Expected Behavior:

GPU should continue to be utilized, rendering should remain active, and the object should gradually build up as welding progresses.

Actual Behavior:

  • GPU usage drops to 0.
  • Rendering stops entirely.
  • The game does not crash; the process remains active.
  • Other actions (running, jumping, flying, drilling, grinding) do not trigger this issue — only welding a projection from scratch does.

Impact:

This makes construction via projections impossible, as welding immediately disables GPU usage and halts visual output.

System Specs:

  • OS: Windows 11 24H2
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-14600KF (3.50 GHz)
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 Super (Driver 576.40)
  • RAM: 64 GB DDR5 5600 MHz
  • Storage: Kingston SNV2S1000G NVMe SSD (Health 99%)
