Small grid vehicle goes ballistic, self destructs

ben misegades shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

I spent an hour or two on my xbox survival save tonight building a small rover. The small grid vehicle had a large container, two large batteries, a connector, a piston, a grinder, and 6 of the 3x3 wheels. There was no cockpit/control seat yet. As I was placing a few more pieces of armor the vehicle suddenly started flipping and spinning uncontrollably and began tumbling down a hillside. It is currently at the bottom of the valley by my base, still going airborne, flipping, tumbling, and generally destroying itself.

It's kind of funny, but at the same time it's a little upsetting to see my work self-destructing and going generally bananas for no apparent reason.

Hello,

Thank you for the report. This usually happens due to pistons and rotors, if two subgrids get too close to each other. This behavior should be improved in current version of the game but this is a long term issue, which we know about. It is mostly caused by physics limitations and the way how grid system works. If you have this issue, I would recommend to make sure both subgrids are not colliding with each other.

Thank you.

Kind Regards
