Ships not responding after unlocking landing gear or connector

Solved

Since Sparks on Xbox we (3 different player's, two different saves) have been getting a recurring bug where a ship or rover will not respond to player commands after unlocking landing gear or connectors.


Only fix we have found is for either another player to disconnect and hope they don't bug as well, or to restart the game.

Hello,

are you able to reproduce the issue? Does it still happens or was it only one time issue? This seems to be quite a rare issue, which is quite hard to reproduce, so we would appreciate any additional info.

Yes I and my faction have all experienced this phenomenon. Also sometimes will take over ship and start flying away to max speed with no control. I found getting in and out of the seat fixes it most of the time.

Would there be something to help us reproduce it? Does it happen with specific grid that you would be able to upload? Does it happen randomly or after a specific action? To report a bug into our system it is necessary to have reliable steps to reproduce in order for programmers to fix it.

I have noticed more on large grid ships especially larger ones. We are running an inventory script so not sure if that helps. Everyone is noticing the same issue

Can you upload the world and steps to reproduce?

I did upload the world. Connect a ship to upload then try and disconnect. It will try and reattach and the only way to continue is get out of seat and return to seat and try again

By "upload" I mean to save the world to workshop (mod.io), so i can download it and test it there. To do it, press "Publish" in Load game screen while the world is selected and finish the upload. After that just share here link to the world here.

Thank you for the report. Would it be possible to upload the world to mod.io and let us know what are the steps to reproduce the issue? There might be some specific settings causing the issue since I wasn't able to reproduce it.

Thank you. What exactly am I looking for in the world? I tried to unlock multiple ships multiple times and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue a single time. Some ships had their hydrogen thrusters turned off, which I had to turn on and one ship I found had atmospheric thrusters, which do not work in space, so I am not really able to tell what was the issue.


Any additional info would be appreciated.

Hi,


As I said, there is no one specific thing that causes the issue to occur - most recently we had 3 of the large ships landing gear locked to each other and jumped to a trade station, when we reached it I was unable to control my modified Rust freighter after releasing the landing gear from the jump-sled we were using to boost the range.


My two server-mates have had the issue occur simply trying to disconnect a ship from the main station, but again not in any repeatable fashion, the ships with thrusters off were an attempt to solve the issue on our own (with little success). It does happen more often for the non-host players than the host.


And yes we do have an atmospheric only ship, and we know it doesn't work in space, it's for planetary mining trips after being carried by the green freighter.


Next time it happens I'll document exactly what we were doing and with what ships and post it here - though we are hoping to transfer this save (or at least the grids we own from it) to a private dedicated server once Nitrado figures out what they broke, so that may change the situation

Would anyone be able to provide a save in which this happens regularly or some reliable steps for reproduction? I am still not able to reproduce it.

I face with this issue very often when play coop with my mates. Hope observations will help to reproduce the problem.

It's hard to determine all conditions, but main points:

1. few ships docked/connected to the same base (static grid)

2. differnet users dock/undock their ships

3. (mb) someone join/dissconnect between you connected your ship and want to disconnect it.

4. only one person can unlock the ship. For example 4 players on the server in the same fraction and interaction with the same base. 3 of them can't move ship till 4th not to enter and move a bit the ship.

5. person who can unlock the ship is not mandatory owner of the ship or base.

Hello!

We have the same problem as Andrii. We have a faction, with multiple ships. If we connect to the same grid, only one of us can leave the station. The other ships can disconnect, start their thrusters etc but doesn't respond any moving command. The thrusters doesn't even try to do something, they are just idle.


We start to separate the landing pads so they are next to each other but not connected and it's solve this but it's not good cause we can't use the conveyor system.


Also the pilot who take off with the first ship can use another ship at the same time and after a little movment anybody can use it.


Each ships are made by different person but alone. I guess it's something with the cockpits so when someone leave the station thinks that all ships are gone and noone can use them.


We are on a nitrado server (yes we heard about the problems after we started it :D ).

Just started playing on Xbox, finished first ship, everything functional. Logged off, after re-logging no thrusters work except downward facing(ie on default controls all left thumb stick controls locked, forward, back, left-right). Have tried disconnecting from grids with other vehicles, hasn't worked.

is this happening on a dedicated server? Are you playing with other players? Were there other ships connected to the same grid? If you're not, please make a separate ticket for the issue and we will address it.

This issue shall be already fixed with new game version (v199.020). Closing this thread, now as fixed.

If any of you are still experiencing it even on the newest version, please let us know either by commenting here or opening completely new thread (that´s the better option for us).
