Recoloring existing blocks not working

Kevin Kendall shared this bug 3 years ago
Not a Bug

So my wife has joined my game. She cannot paint any blocks that are currently placed. She can change the color first, then place a block and that works. But she cannot paint any existing blocks even blocks that she has placed herself.

So this photo explains things a bit better. This is my wife’s world. She has created everything on the right that is not red, so she built the light armor blocks that are the floor, and the tower that goes up to the wind turbine. She was able to paint any block she wanted. Then, I build the assembler and refinery (red) and now she cannot paint any of the blocks associated with this grid. We have created a separate grid to the left to test. She created the bottom block (blue) and I created the top block (red) and she can paint both blocks. We just performed another test, we have grinded away the refinery and assembler and now she is able to paint all blocks on the grid again. I really hope this helps because this is very frustrating for her as a woman who really badly wants to paint things for design.

Also did another test. On the separate grid that contains the two different colored light armor blocks, I had my wife place a refinery, and immediately I am not able to paint anything on that grid. So it has an effect both ways. Please help!!!!

Hello,

Thank yopu for the report. However from the last comment it seems intentional. Only Major owner (user with most functional blocks on the grid) can recolor the grid. To avoid this I would recommend to set everything to Nobody so both of you can recolor or set everything to the person who wants to recolor the grid.
