New kind of rotor block

So the current rotor block is attacked to the grid via 1 point.
This is good and rotors are great... however if you watch any sci fi show that's realistic in any way they have ships that have rings that spin to act as artificial gravity.
Would it be possible to have a rotor block that bas 2 connection points and in the middle has a ring that has 4 connection points to create these rings and anything else?
Just curious because at the moment when you place a rotor you cant build anything on the original grid on the other side without it being attached to the rotor grid.
