LCD screens with live camera feeds.

LCD screens are pretty much useless (on XB1 without scripts at least) so how about allowing us to send video feeds to them to use as security monitors or to make docking even easier by being able to look at the screen instead of having to switch to it.

We will consider this feature. Keep voting.

This is an idea that based off this one, I know that you get a targeting crosshairs when you take control of the turrets, but have the same thing on the LCD screen. It would give the feel of being able to look over the gunner's shoulder and see what they see without interfering with their aim.

A few more ideas.

Allow use of Xbox Live screenshots and videos to be shown on LCD screens.

Allow multiple screen placed together to display as a single screen.

Show button action/status. eg Button 1 = Turrets On (Green = On, Red = Off)

Bump.

Multiple LCD output would be nice QoL. Larger banners, massive ads, LCD landing pads.

Camera display would clean up the hotbar and helps 1st person view. Rear-view mirror in cockpit, buried pilot seat with full vision, security rooms.

it would also be nice to be able to easily transfer image code (hex) via Xbox so that we can have memes and custom infographics on our base/ships. The copy paste system is abysmally difficult and needs major reworking to play like pc

live camera feeds are talked about constant on SE discord parties and servers. Probably one of the most sought after features

Live feeds for LCD will add another level of immersion for those players who have trouble with 3rd person camera angles interacting with voxels.

I have made a vehicle which is modular cargo / flying miner. I have trouble when docking 3rd person as I've built my base inside a tall Mars hill. Camera / lcd could make using connectors / merge blocks easier to use, especially if you have a large grid transport which may not be very mobile.

What about showing LCD content as a camera feed overlay? It wound not involve excess rendering and can give a better picture.

I am already doing this in the video card called Stormworks: Build and Rescue, the situation is the same as Ladders, forever Keen claimed it was impossible... but the reality is they just didn't feel like doing it until they actually did it years later when looking for things to include with monetized micro DLC that would make players happy.....

this would be excellent for CICs and other hardened command posts that are deep in the belly of ships. it would also be cool to put it on the screens of blocks for instance if you have a turret controller you could configure it so that it shows what the turret is seeing.

Probably could be implemented in a similar way as the turret controller... Choose the script option in the LCDs, choose the camera option in the scripts section, then select the camera just like the turret controller...

Perhaps even create a whole family for both the LCDs & Transparent LCDs, in which angeled and rounded screens are added that are identical to all of the variants of the windows.

you got your wish

I would love this, playing with first person only setting would allow people to drive/fly without being locked into a camera view as well as allowing cockpits to make use of screens more

quite a large number of users expect this feature to appear in the game, besides, a large number who do not even suspect the appearance of this feature in the game will be very pleased, I think. Now the gameplay will become much more interesting, in some ways even hardcore, because now players will be able to use the first-person game mode for granted, there may be a hint of realism

Welp, seems like KSH actually don't care at all. (Status changed from Under Consideration -> Declined on Wed 31/07/2024 @ 11:18 GMT)
