I built a mining ship, but the drill doesn't fully work

I am on the Xbox beta, I built a mining ship with a drill on it. The drill doesn't work by holding right trigger or left trigger. If I use my keyboard I can put a toggle on/off on the hotbar but only use that with my mouse and keyboard. I can't put a toggle on/off on the dpad hotbar. I don't know if there's some secret I'm missing but I can't get it to work

When you are in the cockpit of your mining ship press and hold up on the d pad. This will open up a menu showing certain blocks, one of them will be the drill fitted to your ship. Press A on the drill and another menu will open with some options, pick 'toggle on/off'. Now when in your ship you press up on the d pad to start your drill and again to.stop it. Hope this helps, took me a while to figure out.

How are you supposed to mine out an area with left trigger and mine with right trigger if all you can do it press up on d pad to turn them on off it works in other aspects of the game so how can it be done in survival. You can even load up a mod with pre built ships that use left and right trigger.

I recently discovered more, still press and hold up on the dpad when you are in your mining vehicle and when the menu opens on the left side is a bar with words on it. I believe one of them says "block tools" or something similar i don't remember exactly right now. When you click on it with A you can then leave the menu and use LT to destroy terrain and RT to gather resources from terrain. Hope this helps. If I can help you more I will.
