Solved
Contracts broke on the most recent update to the Xbox beta. They were working fine prior to the update this morning.
If it changes anything, I am playing without the DLC, but as i said above, contracts were working fine earlier.

A Quick update, but this affects the whole economy system. I tried to purchase a ship (there is a specific one I enjoy that I didn't blueprint), and the game crashed upon interacting with the shop block.

inside the trade stations all the machines for contracts, atm, and shop still doesn't work ,
