Blueprint Overwriting Disconnects Controls
While building a drone I copied a blueprint, saved it, renamed it.
Following that I altered the drone's shipname in the info tab of the menu for the ship to match exactly what I had renamed it's previous blueprint to.
I then powered down the drone from the remote control function, walked around for a second for a good image for the blueprint, then ctrl+b (keyboard user).
The game froze, did not crash. I went to xbox home, returned to game, laggy reentry, no change. Repeated that multiple times, no crash, no recovery.
For the record; I was on a planet (specifically on untouched ice) and the game had not been running for more than 15 minutes.
Second attempt I realize that the game was not frozen, it took away all controls (even with xbox controller being attempted afterwards). This time I tried the do the renaming thing again, but I left the drone powered on, in the air.
Thusly the ice and powering down have no affect on the glitch.
Last attempt will be without naming the drone. Also attempting to regain control by turning off controller for a popup window access point.
No popup for controller disconnect. No change. I can still see the world animated after going to home, then to edge, then back to game.
Leaving the name defaulted to Small Grid xxxx then Ctrl+b was laggy, incredibly slow, but it popped up.
Two notes, in panic of another freeze I used wads a lot and stopped a second later. AFTERWARDS the blueprint window showed up and inside the search bar was some WsSsAsDs a few `s etc. So it's receing input before being shown.
Second note, it was slow to overwrite the original file after renaming it to the target filename.
Functionality exists, but has roadblocks. I know that saving a blueprint (ctrl + b) with a shipname identical to a blueprint name overrides the blueprint but this was definitely wonky behavior and quite a nuisance. Took me around 30 minutes to gather this data between load times and writing the report.
Good luck Keen.
