timer cannot start sound block .... why?
Need More Information
Dear Space engineers,
I play on XBOX Series X; maybe import ( could be that this problem doesn't show up on PC version).
I have the problem that timer blocks cannot start a sound block.
setting:
- timer block actions: rotating beacon ON, Hinge reverse, start (play) sound block ... by the way, the sound block icon is greyed out in the timer block action bar .?!?
When I trigger the timer block , the beacon will start and the hinge starts moving ,but the sound block doesn't play .
I can trigger the sound block manually or with a sensor ( sound block icon isn't greyed out in the action bars! ) - works perfectly fine.
But a timer block cannot start the sound block - why.. ?
I hope you can give me a helping hand...
Best Regards

I am not from Keen. I can confirm that sound block play action IS present in PC version.

Hello, Engineer!
We're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues.
Could you please share the grid you're using with us? The easiest way is to create and publish a blueprint and share the mod.io link in this thread.

Dear Engineers,
I found a way to solve the problem; but still cannot explain why this problem showed up!
1. The "grid" which did show up the problem : "Original Red Team Dropship"
- I used a copy of that original Keen Design for my game.
- I decided to make a warning timer block for lowering/rising the loading ramp
- I used one of the original timer blocks ( actions: start rotating beacon, reverse hinge, start sound block )
---> the soundblock icon was greyed out ?!
Well, all worked fine, but the sound block didn't start...
First, I thought about a common bug in the xbox version.
But after I found some time for testing, I could say that in general the function works perfectly fine. No problem at all!
Well, so it just could be a local problem with the grid ( copy of original Red Team Dropship ).
After another hour of testing I found a way to solve the problem. It is a strange method, but it works perfectly fine...
I did replace the original timer block with a new copy ( in fact I replaced all 4 original timer blocks, not to run in another trap! ).
- the new timer block didn't show a greyed out sound block icon, fine! But still no sound ?!
AND(!) I had to replace all 4 original buttons for activating the loading ramp. I used copies of the same button blocks.
When I used the copies of the original blocks, it worked perfectly fine.
Why the original blocks ( timer and buttons ) showed up the problem - I have no idea ?!?
You don't believe - just test it.
I hope my nasty experience can help other engineers...

Hello, Engineer!
It is entirely possible that blueprints created in previous versions might have some issues. Could you let us know what world you've blueprinted the ship from?
