Space Engineers (XBOX Series X) , unable to attach small grid blocks to a connected small hinge head
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I would like to build a "custom ball turret" within Space Engineers ( XBOX Series X ; after Hotfix 1.206.032 ). With the old technique it never has been a problem; after the option to directly connect a small hinge head to a big hinge base, it doesn't work ?!
I will describe step by step my workflow.
Step1: I start with a big grid conveyor as base for the custom ball turret.
Step 2: On top of the conveyor I place an advanced rotor.
Step 3: On top of the advanced rotor I place a hinge (5x5).
Step 4: I delete the big hinge head.
Step 5: I place a control seat next to the construction.
Step 6: I jump into the control seat and open the control panel.
Step 7: I select the hinge 5x5 and attach a small hinge head.
Step 8: I check that the small hinge head is visually connected and functional ( small hinge head can be rotated by 180° )!
Well, all seems to be fine!
But now I run into trouble!
Step 9: I try to place more small grid blocks ...
- I have to place small grid conveyor blocks; connected to the small hinge head.
And exactly at this step I run into trouble!
The game logic doesn't give me the option to connect small grid blocks to the small hinge head.
my workflow: I press the left stick to open the building menu; I select a conveyor and confirm with RB. All I will get is a big grid block. I tried to change the size of the blocks with LB+X, but I still just get a big grid block. I changed the size of the blocks with LB+X in the building menu to small; but again I just get a big grid block.
With one word: " I cannot attach small grids to my small hinge head."
- not the desired small grid conveyor, nor weapon blocks!
I attach a screenshot of my construction with the correctly attached small hinge head.
I am doing something wrong, or is there a bug in the XBOX game version ?
I really hope you can give me a helping hand how to select and attach small grid blocks to my small hinge head ...
Waiting for your answer...
Best Regards
Mr. Fischer

Dear Sir / Madam,
I found the solution for the problem!
It has been my personal mistake; there is NO(!) bug in the xbox version of Space Engineers.
I missed the correct section in the building menu for small grid conveyor systems.
I didn't notice that there is a separate menu section for small conveyor systems.
I don't know how this stupid mistake could happen; but it did - unfortunately.
My custom ball turret is finished, working and now protecting my atmospheric mining ship "NOSTROMO" .
- when I found the correct section for small conveyors in the building menu all worked fine and like expected.
Sorry for any inconvenience...
