Allow server administrators to set how authoritative the server is.
I recently started renting a dedicated server, and it's become apparent that, out of nowhere, and for seemingly no reason whatsoever, random players start experiencing rubber banding to an extent that's entirely unplayable. Being killed when they're flung into surfaces, the server teleporting them in random directions like it can't make up its mind, and being unable to weld or grind structures because the server inexplicably thinks they're 10m to the right or it didn't get the message that they started using their tools.
So I suggest this: Allow server administrators to set how aggressively the server 'corrects' things. Positions, rotations, tool use, whatever.
Private servers between friends arguably don't need strict enforcement, as anyone found cheating can just be banned. Public servers can keep the behaviour as it currently is. The current state of the game renders most dedicated servers utterly unplayable otherwise, and in the low stakes environment of a friends-only private server, being able to play the game smoothly takes precedence over stopping cheaters.
