Flight AI breaks in P gravity Reposted from topics my bad.

Not a Bug

When using the bask task AI to drive a grid to a coordinate set using autopilot the flight AI will fly at no more then 35 m/s. And will stop and float at 1.27km altitude. If u break and rebuild a new flight AI it will either 1 meter or another 1.2 ish kilometer. But when under that altitude the basic task AI and Flight block will work fine together. On the other hand wheb using the offensive AI for interception the flight AI will work very well and without problem at well above 1.27 (tested max height 7km).

This is very irritating I'm trying to make a system to attack hostile grids at distances beyond 2.4km. I HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFULL. But I can't attack a grid beyond 4km because the offensive AI won't detect the grid and the missle Woll float their unless their is an enemy grid which the offensive AI will take over and guide and use tge Flight AI with no problem

Hello Engineer,

Could you please send us a blueprint of a grid you're having issues with? Publishing to mod.io and posting a link is the easiest way to do so. Could you please also tell us which planet you're playing on?

Kind regards,

This is prior to a work around.

I found that you can create a circuit which constantly switches off and on the flight Ai when under 70 m/s using an event controller which is an effective work around. But the AI still wants to stop at the 1.27 to 2.7 km altitude.

Newer grid with work around added below

Thank you guys.

Hello Engineer,

We've looked at the blueprints you've provided. It looks like both of them lack thrusters in forward direction. It is entirely possible that this could be causing all kinds of issues with AI pathfinding. Could you please try a grid with thrusters in all six directions as a first solution?

Kind regards,

Hello Engineer,

So the issue is resolved, if we understood you correctly?
