have tried swapping to different controllers, wired or not, will suddenly start walking to the right without input, even with a new controller, it takes off by itself
in a ''strafe right'' mode,

Could you please let us know if the issue is present in Multiplayer or Single Player? Are you using any mods? Is the issue happening in specific circumstances(on a planet, in artificial gravity, only in survival or creative and so on)? Does it happen for both character and when controlling a grid? Have you noticed any similar issues in the UI, for example the selection randomly moving to another UI element?

I had this too. It's controller drift. Turn up the inner dead zone on your controller in the menu until it stops . You might want to consider purchasing a new controller soon.
