Gantries would be very helpful in simplifying very common early game structures.

I would like to make a suggestion for the addition of gantries.

A Gantry would be used very similarly to a piston in that it allows for linear actuation of subgrids, but the key difference would be that instead of suspending the grid at the end of a piston, the subgrid would move along a "track" that can be supported from both ends. It would not take the place of a piston as the piston can extend away from its origin without a structure to support it, while the gantry could not move beyond its predetermined bounds.

This would be very useful for simple structures such as: Cranes, Elevators, 3D printers, and more, without the need to build an entire ship for the job, while also providing more stability than a piston without making pistons completely obsolete.
