Add a radar dish.

Add a radar dish and make it work with the console block. It could show a sphere and everything within the set range will show its location in 3D. 5-10km would be a fair max distance. You could then select any target for a more detailed look at it to show how heavily armed it is or any other info about it. It could work as an early warning system for ground bases if combined with lights and sirens. You could also set it to only warn for certain factions or assign them different warnings so you know if it's friendly or not.

The radar could also be an early warning system for the new weather update. You could get a warning 60 seconds before an event like lightning or dust storms so you have time to prepare.

I'd suggest something more akin to Phased array radar plates and blocks. Making ship building more interesting when you can't just slap down a single block and call it a day. Panes with a scan speed and limited scan angles would force you to think how you are placing them.
In addition to this having something like larger versions of the rockets that could fire guided missiles that use the radar for targeting as player made weapons murder servers and are unusable in multiplayer for that reason
