Console powering off when joining dedicated server

Mr Gareth Edwards shared this bug 18 months ago
Solved

On joining my dedicated server from my Xbox One X the console powers off about three time out of four.

Server accepts password and begins to load but then the whole console powers down and stays off. When it boots it's similar to a hard reset.

My Xbox Series X does not exhibit the same issues.

Nothing obvious showing in the server logs.

The issue seems worse if I choose to join the previous game rather than going through the join screen and selecting the server.

Hello, Mr Gareth Edwards,

thanks for contacting us.

However you reached the PC part of the support portal.

I'm going to move you thread properly to Xbox part of the forum.

Kind Regards

Hello Engineer.

Are you using any mods on your dedicated server? Could you try if it works without mods if yes?

Could you please send us logs from the console?

To send logs, you can follow those steps:

  1. Reproduce the issue and restart the console
  2. Press Y on gamepad or F1 on keyboard in the Main Menu or Pause Menu to open Help screen
  3. Open section Report issue
  4. Fill up email address (required) and description (optional)
  5. Press ‘Send report’ to send it
  6. Update this thread with details filled in the report for us to be able to identify it

I will send logs again when the issue next happens. I have already sent the reports in once but don't wish to add my email address into the comments here though the email address is the same as my account on these support forums if that helps

There are no mods on the dedicated server. It is almost entirely used for access from xbox with my steam account used occasionally for admin usage

Hello Engineer,

Would it also be possible to upload your server to mod.io as a world? It would really help us reproduce the issue. Also, are you using a retail version on Xbox or the Beta version?

Thank you,

Kind Regards

I'm using the retail version on Xbox.

I'll work out how to upload it to mod.io and pass you the link

I've just had the problem occur again. Have uploaded logs with the url for this thread in the description

(support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/xbox/topic/26184-console-powering-off-when-joining-dedicated-server)

I am using the retail version on the xbox. Still working out how to upload a dedicated server to mod.io

Hello, Engineer,

Unfortunately there's nothing in the logs that would point us towards the issue, so we're going to ask that you upload the save after all.

We're assuming here that you have a PC version of the game installed as well.

To upload the server you can take the following steps:

  • Open the folder C:\Users\ INSERT YOUR USERNAME \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves
  • Find the save folder of your dedicated server
  • Place that folder into C:\Users\ INSERT YOUR USERNAME \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\ INSERT YOUR STEAM ID
  • Start Space Engineers and open the Load Game menu
  • Select the save and press Publish

Thank you,

Kind Regards

I have been away from the game for a bit but recently started playing again. I haven't noticed it in the current version but apologise that I don't know when it was resolved
