Xbox New World Freezing

Won't Fix

Every time I enter in a cockpit, leave or enter the atmosphere, go in 1st or 3rd person and all the other activities that aren't just walking, the game start making a very strange sound and start freezing. At that point I am obligated to close the game and restart it just for have the same issue again. I use an Xbox one X, it happens in all the world I create, survival and creative, this issue began just 2 days ago.

Same for me too. After the last update this game has been currently unplayable for me. Playing survival was all good until I left earth and reached about 16,000m, and after that game freezes, can't do anything but can still hear the game as if it was still playing.


Hopes this gets fixed soon, This is a super fun game.

I found a fix for me. Change the sound setting from realistic to arcade. Works perfectly for me now.

Can KeenSWH look into this? I love the realistic sounds and can't handle the arcade ones. The fact that the thruster sound stays on in space as I control burst thrust nauseates me.

Using the arcade sounds the world has stop freezing so I think that the problem is the realistic sounds

We are still unable to reproduce this issue. Can someone please upload world where is it happening to Mod.IO and give us steps to reproduce the issue?

To reproduce the issue: Enable realistic sound. Be outside of an atmosphere/pressurized ship. Touch a powered grid.

I've only tried with batteries. Not sure about other power sources.

The game doesn't actually freeze, it reduces frames to about 1 every 10 seconds. If you are able to jump and escape the powered grids grasp (this takes a few seconds), the game will go back to normal.
