Game hard crashes to Xbox home screen while trying to save.

Solved

Crashes in survival while on Earth-like planet every time it saves (manual & auto). Once it displayed a memory warning, unfortunately I don't have a photo of the warning message.

I have ran into the same problem before. I'll leave all the info I have on this bug. The game might have a memory leak because I got a warning for low memory too on a different save file (I didn't screenshot that error) but it fixed itself when I closed the game and restarted it.

My Multiplayer save file is the one crashing on save/auto save. We cant move forward in our progress and we know bugs happens. That's why were here testing your game before it launches. After playing 10+ Hours in a row I went to sleep and logged back in the next morning the Multiplayer save file actually saves while I'm in single player but once I start multiplayer/Friend joins and we start doing things like mine Nickle ore on the surface and try to save the game crashes every time.

After several days of testing and reading the Forum. we finally figured out what's causing the game to crash every time and we can reproduce it. Mining ores from the surface of a planet aka (Ores from boulder) After mining the ore on the surface if you try to manually save the game or if auto save tries to save the game it will crash and not save anything.

I'm getting a similar problem on Mars. Won't let me save and when autosave happens, game hard crashes. When I manually saves, says there isn't enough memory on disk.

Xbox has 60GB of disk free, is Xbox One S.

I think its a multiplayer issue. Was anyone else playing with friends online or just have their save file set to open?

After some testing it's definitely the resource nodes on the surface causing it I've tried a few on Mars and any save either manual or auto when these resources are in inventory or in a refinery causes a crash. Interestingly in sapce the nodes on asteroids when mined did not cause same issue.

A dev of Space Engineers said on discord they will be looking in to Boulder Ores causing the save to crash the game

Did you create your own faction? It could just be a bug on how they write or read cloud storage.

Is your game stored on a external hard drive or Ssd? I’m starting to think it’s a bug on how the game is saved then what we were doing at the moment that lead up to the crash. We’ll find out in due time when the devs look into the problem.

We finally figured out why my game is crashing. It might be the same as mine. Were you mining ores from the surface from like a boulder?

Mine may have crashed from mining a ice boulder deposit, but now I'm back to a save from beforehand yet the game will not let me save still. Giving me the error message above. Any fix or should I move to a new save?

I did mine an iron boulder shortly before the save stopped working.

I tried creating a new faction, kept crashing. The game is unplayable now till the issue can be fixed. Also had the memory warning pop up
