xbox Controller dysfunctional after new update
Won't Fix
The Xbox controller was working fine till the update. Now the triggers don't work on any of the saved games I have. I reinstalled and the same thing is happening. I need controller support. I dislike keyboards. I've been using controllers since the late 1970s. If you could give me a solution to this problem it would be most appreciated. (bought on steam) Thank you...... Claude Cimon

Unfortunately we are unable to reproduce your issue. Are you sure that your controller triggers work without issues in some other game for example? Do you have controller drivers updated?

so I tried it once more for you (with an old wired Xbox 360 controller) and everything was working fine for me. Even on save started back on v197, update the game and running the old save on v198; still everything worked.
Can you specify what version of the controller are you using (360, One, Series X; wired/wireless), please?
Are you sure you have it set correctly in the game settings (Options - Controls)?
How about the drivers, as my colleague asked? Can you confirm that there is no need to update drivers for the controller?
Did you also try to plug to controller out and in again? Do you have it connected when starting the game, or are you connecting it upon the game is in the main menu? Are you plugging out/turning off the controller from your PC at all, or is it connected all the time?

I am also having controller issues since buying the DLC. Trying to use my Xbox controller, which is a series X version, causes the game to quickly switch UI between the controller setup and normal KB+M several times a second. It's disconnecting me from servers and makes things rubberband like crazy in single player. Going thru the fixes suggested in the Steam Forums has only resulted in constant crashes. I too use a controller. Its makes navigation and mining much easier for me since its what I'm used to.
I bought the game originally on Xbox One and was hooked enough to buy it again for PC so I can run a server and play with my wife. So you can imagine my disappointment that my brand new controller, which I bought pretty much just to use on SE, doesn't work on the game.

I have this same problem too with the 1.198 release. I'm launching the game via steam, and am using an XBox One controller connected to my PC via bluetooth. I have the steam controller support disabled via steam, and just select XInput or whatever it says in the Controller Selection dropdown. Works flawlessly with 1.197, so I just rolled back to that for the time being. It is just the two trigger buttons that don't work. They do work however for navigating the menu. I am a developer too, and that sucks when you can't reproduce something. Are they any logs or any other info I can attach to help troubleshoot this?
