World Load/Generation Crash

Alexander Schneider shared this bug 5 years ago
Won't Fix

Attempting to load or create a new world file with mods loaded initially starts to work, then the loading screen freezes for ~30 seconds before crashing to desktop, without triggering SE crash reporter. Evaluated SE log file and removed mods that had issues noted in the log, but failed to fix the issue. Will attempt to remove some additional mods. Of note from log file:

"Failed to parse texture header! Texture: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content\Textures\GUI\Controls\screen_inventory_trash.dds" and "Steam.IsActive: True ... Steam.IsOnline: True ... Steam.OwnsGame: False" and "Checksum file is missing, game will run as usual but file integrity won't be verified"

SE log file is attached.

Addendum: Graphics Card drivers are up to date and not an experimental build as far as I know. Running latest SE version, as well as latest windows build.

I am not part of Keen.

Lot of old-but-not-broken mods. Broken mods include Hull Regeneration Engine, Transporter.

@ Alexander_Schneider : So how is this Keen Software's problem? You are using old and broken mods, so those mod authors have to update their mods.

Following the update, the issue is still present. I have removed known "old and broken" mods. Its seeming that any mod that actually adds blocks to the game causes the crash, as I can play with mods that alter the HUD or add minor scripting functions.

I have experienced similar problems with modded worlds and similar messages, even messages for mods that are not active on the world

Hello, Engineer!

Please remove all mods from your save and try to load the world. Can you please confirm this issue also occurs without mods? If it is caused by a certain mod or by combination of mods, we won't be able to fix it.
