Visual Scripting Tool: Bug when copying & pasting nodes

Djelle shared this bug 3 years ago
Reported

When I copy (Ctrl+C) and past (Ctrl+V) nodes, it seams to also copy the connections between nodes not copied. Lets say I copy two connected nodes from the middle of a string of connected nodes, It will copy the connection between the two copied nodes. But it will also try to copy the connections between the copied nodes and the old not copied nodes. Leading to unintended connections. Often to "random" nodes. These connections are not drawn on the screen. But a save and a reload will show them. I can not even imagine the mess if you copy nodes from one script to another. Which I think just happened to me. VST can of course not draw connections between two different scripts. But I expect them to be there.

This has already been reported by another user. But their post has been overlooked. https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/visual-scripting-copy-paste-breaks-script

6 month bump.

Thank your for recognising this bug. Do you believe it will be fixed in my lifetime? ;)

Not many are daring using the Visual Scripting Tool, because they know it is buggy as hell.
