Unmerging a Grid Breaks Beacons

I have a video of this happening, but it's too big to attach. The repro steps are simple, though.
1. Put two merge blocks together.
2. Power both sides of this merged pair. I used batteries.
3. Place a beacon on each side of the merged pair.
4. Unmerge the merged pair by turning off one of the merge blocks (not both).
The beacon on the side of the merge pair that is still turned on will lose its HUD marker. You can test this by re-merging and turning off the other merge block, which will cause the other beacon to break.
I've created an upload that exhibits this behavior with a small-grid example.
