unable to connect to server

Won't Fix

As soon as I invest considerable time establishing a base, I am unable to connect to the server. I get the graphics pop up saying check drivers are updated etc when trying to log in. as soon as a certain time has passed and my stuff is deleted. I can the join the server and start all over again. This is not an issue with my computer as i am able to join any other server including Keen servers. - I hav tried this on UK 1 and 2 and as soon as i have a base - it dont let me join the server.

Hello, James!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Firstly, this is just UK 1 and 2 that you're having issues with and no others? Online scenarios etc with lobbies are working as intended? Is your ping particularly high or anything obvious on these servers? It would be ideal to see a log from when you are unable to connect.

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Also, it may be worth trying the below suggestions for general advice as these can help a wide array of issues:

  • Verify your game files in Steam

  • Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

  • Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Finally, for general issues with the servers if you find you need help from an admin please join the Discord https://discord.gg/XVHJ7bRH and navigate to 'help for official servers' from here you can speak to an admin and they can provide you help if things are being deleted etc.
