Turrets in Dedicated server not working

roorider shared this bug 2 years ago
Solved

So running a dedicated server for me and a few friends and discovered that turrets are not shooting meteor's, did a quick search and discovered that they don't shoot anything (automatically) in dedicated servers (Yes I did test in my own world if they shoot objects automatically and they do)

Please fix this as it makes pvp and other uses for turrets useless and removes some of the fun from Space Engineers

Hello, roorider,

thanks for letting us know about this issue and we are sorry that you are experiencing it in a first place.

However, when I did try it, I did not observe any issues regarding behavior of turrets on DS. They shoot the meteors from the meteor shower, enemies (spiders) and enemy ships/vehicles as they should. The only difference is that on DS turrets are lacking the idle movement. But that´s correct in order to get better performance on server. Other than that they are working (shooting) just fine when there are enemies/meteors in vicinity. You think it´s possible to provide a video?

Are you playing the game without mods? If no, and you are using some, can you please try it on the unmodded world as well?

If you will still experience the same issue even on vanilla game, can you please provide me the save file of your world so I can take a closer look on what is happening there and to be able to investigate why you might be experiencing this problem?

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards

Hi, so after reading and doing testing between making this post it seems that maybe they were just bugged in the world for some reason, as of now they are working fine
