Space Engineers has done a quick update - at the time I was playing on the Omega Rebel server, quit, updated to find i'm now greeted with:
"The current version of the game requires a Dx11 card"
Seems like it effects a few people over the years, the SpaceEngineers.cfg already lists DX 11.

DX11 was a requirement that came with planets. You used to be able to access the last DX9 build under the betas tab on steam, though I haven't checked recently.
