Station detaches from asteroid when a block splits from grid

Hi,

I have been building a big base inside an asteroid since a long time now, and a few days (maybe weeks) before the Warefare 1 update I started noticing that when I grind something and causes a split (even if it's a single block) my hole base detaches from the asteroid and starts moving (and causing lag because it's big).

I was happy when I read the changelog of Warefare 1 update because I saw a bugfix "Fixed asteroid embeded station becoming dynamic when removing blocks in certain configurations", but it seems I still have this issue.

Facts:

-Grinding a block wich does not split the grid in two will not trigger this bug.

-Unmerging a block will not trigger the bug.

-I have very few mods active, in fact they are all very popular mods, and are not game-breaking mods (only two of them are blocks and are deletable). You can disable them all and the base will not break and will still function as intended. The bug will still happen.

-It's a bit script intensive. Again, all scripts can be disabled for performance with no effects.

-Just in case it matters, at some point after I started this world but a long time ago, I spawned an asteroid "glued" to another so I have more space for my base.

-I tried to activate the "unsuported stations" option and it fixes the problem, but prevents my big hangar doors made with hinges and merge blocks to work properly.

-I have a copy of the last save in wich the bug did not happen. If I build a few more blocks (I was starting to build a corridor for the disco), and decide to grind something wich causes a split, the issue starts to happen again.

I have seen other people complain about this issue. Mainly old posts, but also new ones. Could you please check it?

If you need aditional details files or tests, let me know.

Thanks!

Hello, Guislle!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Thank you for the save file and information. (Great creation!!) I've been grinding down blocks all over the place and reloading the save but can't seem to reproduce any movement. Is there a particular block that you have noticed that will reliably cause the issue or, area for me to focus on? I've disabled all mods for the purpose of testing and I appreciate you said that disabling them will still cause the bug to happen. The direction of where to focus the block grinding would be a great help unless it's totally random for you.

Kind Regards

Hi Laura,

How are you doing? Glad that you liked my humble asteroid base :)

I recorded a video showing the issue I have (I should have done that from the begining I guess). As stated before you have to cause the grid to split in two. Otherwise you can grind as many blocks as you want, it will not trigger the bug.

Here is the video:

https://youtu.be/LtFG2MTEq3E

I disabled all mods for the purpose of this video and as you can see I still have the problem.

It happens in any area of the base, no specific blocks.

As I said in previous post, I have an earlier savegame where it does not happen, and adding some more blocks (dont know how many) triggers again the bug. Maybe a block count limitation?

Hope this time you can reproduce the error.

Thanks a lot!

Hello, Guislle!

Thank you so much for the video, that explained it perfectly :) I have successfully reproduced the issue and reported it internally.

Adding my 10 cents here - same bug on my server.

If you need any more information or another savegame - let me know.

Any plans on when this will get adressed ?
