Speed Modules increases productivity by incorrect amount when assembler efficiency isn't "realistic"

Isaac Clancy shared this bug 3 years ago
Solved

When assembler efficiency is set to x3 in world settings, a speed module only increases productivity by 33% (when using 2 upgrade slots) but the control panel shows a 100% productivity increase.

Hello, Isaac,

thanks for sharing your issue with us. However, it appears that it is working correctly for me.

Why do you think the productivity is increased only by 33%, while the control panel details states it is increased by 100% with every added module? Did you count it somehow, measure the time of the production of some object with and without added module, or... ? Can you share with me the way how you found out, please? Any additional info would be great help.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Kind Regards

I measured the time to assemble 50 power cells.

0 speed modules: 68 seconds

1 speed module: 51 seconds

2 speed modules: 41 seconds

3 speed modules: 35 seconds

4 speed modules: 29 seconds

I also build a device that grinds and welds batteries and 1 assembler with 4 speed modules couldn't produce power cells fast enough whereas 5 assemblers without speed modules could.

The problem is even worse with x10 assembler efficiency.

Sorry for not replying I thought this issue had failed to submit.

My new report got marked as a duplicate and I was referred to this ancient thread. Has this bug report been dustbinned?
