Space Engineers Crash when joining dedicated server

Bryce Allen shared this bug 3 years ago
Solved

Hello, I have been playing on a dedicated server for a few weeks with no issues however recently it seemed that the game allowed me to place a block completely within voxels or at least it made the light armor placement sound. Regardless, I cannot join that particular server anymore. Others are able to join but every time I try, I make it to the Message of The Day only for the game to completely crash (without a log).

Steps taken so far are to completely uninstall and reinstall the game, verify cache before and after reinstallation, and delete shadercache folder within appdata of SE game folder.

Can anyone help? I would love to get a log on here but the game offers no log when it crashes. Perhaps logs are saved in some directory?

Thanks in advance!

If you leave out the part about block placement, I have the same issue: Crash to desktop after the welcome message of the day, after joining online game. No problems in single player.

Hello Bryce!

Sorry to hear you're having this issue with the dedicated server. You have taken the steps that I would first suggest. When this happens, there is a location for the log and it would be great if you could attach it for us to have a look at :)

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

I am having the same issue - Welcome message of the day on a dedicated server, crash to desktop.

I rolled back a windows update this morning, then it let me in. I was on at 930 am today and played for 2 hours. Came back at 2:30 pm, did not work.

I have tried restarting, reinstalling. I have updated GeForce graphics. Temperatures are good. Here is a log

Hello Shawn!

Thank you for providing the log and I'm sorry you're having this issue. I notice there are some mod errors in the log. Do you experience this issue when you are on a server without any mods at all?

I have only been playing on one server that some friends and I have rented, and I have been playing on it for 4 months.

I don't have Admin access to the server, but if you can let me know what mods may be behaving badly I can see if they can get turned off.

It is very random when it works and when it does not. I was able to log in last night. Here is the log from that.

Hello Shawn!

Thank you for the update. Can you please disable the ATA Solar System mod as this is causing an error in the previous log. Please see how you get on once this is disabled.

Kind Regards

My teammates actually just jumped us to a new area, and now I can get in fine.

I am having this error as well. I am NOT running the ATA Solar System mod but have started experiencing this issue after leaving a planet and using a medium sized ship as a respawn point in space.

I get to the Message of the Day screen and start hearing in-game sounds shortly before crashing to desktop. Here are my logs:
