Soundloop after docking

Snowflake shared this bug 3 years ago
Solved

I don´t know if anyone can help me. Some people say, they don´t hear difference, but that´s not true. The first ship has a constant noise and the second ship doesn´t.

I tried alot, switching to real from arcade, spawning new ships, restarting the game and alot more.

But nothing helps ...

The sound is comming from the cockpit, but it´s a thrustersound i think. So i don´t know what causes the issue. But i didn´t found any solution, that fixed it.

The only thing that removes the sound, was removing the cockpit. :-D

Tested with mods and without mods. Nothing changed!

https://youtu.be/cZnc-E3ZaU0 I hope that helps.

Both Ships are the same, both are docked in the same way, also same configurations. But there is a sound difference comming from the ship.

Maybe this will help, but my ship is also turning on, after i cut the power off and save the game.

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for your report. Could you please provide us with the save of your world?

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thank you.

Kind Regards

Thx for the answer, i don´t know if this will help.

But Dan2D3D testet it and posted alot of information in:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/244850/discussions/0/2962768085011258948/

I published my world on steam too.

The soundbug is happening with and without mods. I created a new world too, to test it.

I get the same problem. So i hope the Steam Discussion link can help.

Hello, Snowflake!

Unfortunately we are not able to reproduce your issue, as it is not possible to load your save world (the file on G-drive is corrupted when trying to load it from the game). The world given on Steam have mods in it, and as we are trying to keep the testing game vanilla, this is not working as well.

Can you please, either, re-upload the world on G-drive so it is possible to load it, or better reproduce this issue in new vanilla world and share that one particular save? Or maybe just BP of the ships might be enough.

Kind Regards

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2297216011 <--- Blueprint didn´t has the soundbug

So i added the blueprint without mods, i also created a copie of my world, without mods in a winrar archiv.

The Problem is and i don´t know why, but i blueprinted the base before in a new world, to a different spot. Like i did before in my save. So the sound was gone. But after i deleted my base and put it in the same spot, like my world. I had the same issue. I try to publish my world on the workshop and test something.

World Save on Steam Workshop.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2297227491 <--- That´s the save with the soundbug. Testet with mods and without mods! Also tried both ways with scripts. Didn´t change anything.

So ye, i deleted my save, redownloaded the save from the workshop and get the same soundbug. I don´t know if the sound is bind to the location. But if i move the base to a different spot. Than it is gone. I don´t know for how long, because i don´t have time to test it.

Sorry for editing alot. I try to keep it clear.

I tried a couple different stuff now.

I loaded the world with the sound problem. Than i docked both the ships. Only when i´m connected to the grid, i get the problem.

So i connected my first ship and removed all the thrusters. After that, the soundbug is gone. Now i tried the second ship, docked and the bug was back.

So i removed again all thrusters and placed new ones.

Soundproblem is gone, than i tried to build from the blueprint both ships again, after docking the problem was back.

I try now, to build a complete new ship and dock it to the grid, let´s see if this will fix it. Maybe there was a soundloop on the grid. But i will keep posting. ;-)

So i build a new ship, docked it, sound was there again. removed all thrusters and the thruster sound is still there.

But i only have a connector and a cockpit docked. :-D

So that doesn´t fix it.

So did a little testing again, the new ship had no sound issues, but now this happened.

I also put the volume higher, so you can hear the problem alot better.

Sorry for destroying the ships. But i had to make sure, that they don´t make a noise.

The problem got even worse now, because a static noise popped up too, that you can hear from 100m away, arround the cockpit.

Hello, Snowflake!

Thanks for providing new save and blueprint. This time, everything worked fine and I was able to observe - and more importantly - hear the sound you were mentioning. Everything was noted down and put into our internal system.

Thanks again for extensive cooperation and testing on your own. It was a great help!
