Sound stuck at 0%?

Won't Fix

at first i had no sound for half a play until i disconnected my headphones, then i went out of the game for some blueprints, then going back nothing i tried worked, i updated my drivers, changed audio devices, i thought something went wrong with my computer until i open the sound options and both bars where at 0, i tried moving them but no matter what they stay on that position.

Hello Jorge!

I've just been having a look into this and it appears there was a thread quite some time ago about others having this issue. The most notable fix for users was changing their sample rate in windows audio settings to 48000Hz. Could you try doing that? Is this only happening in Space Engineers?

Thanks for the reply, my settings already are on 48kHz, i usually play with that since realtek is kind of special when it comes to audio drivers, the problem seems to be sort of replicable when I plug in any audio hardware Or alt tab out of the game with the menu open, tho it's not really following a complete pattern, is sort of fixed now by resetting my computer, I'm kind of afraid that if I leave the game is going to come back ñ

Hello Jorge!

If you think it's down to the game rather than your PC, you can try our usual steps for a reinstall below. I appreciate you're at least sort of fixed so might not want to do anything now but may be an option if you find the issue arises again :) Fingers crossed all will be ok now!

  • Verify your game files in Steam

  • Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

/bfSnH0rGoN-NgctSWBJN3LfvWZvgnfye9BrPgucxV0n8TDpNc-7yZYwSifdRXyl1quu20KGUNmHzSf6VGRbhWS4a_EYn2MclxJSOz6eVarmz-fhTWVaofVOAVZN_l_leF9dgQ5GF

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

  • Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated
