Solved

I am in a vehicle that I own, which is attached to a connector to my base. When I disconnect the connector, the vehicle does not move. It says "someone else is using this ship". If I leave the cockpit and come back in, I can control the ship, but only if I turn off the connector. If I reconnect and disconnect, I get the same error again.

I had this - small block ship small hinge was causing this, removed the hinge and gain control of ship back - this was while playing on Keen #1 UK

Still having this issue. Have tried all blocks not shared, all blocks shared, all cockpits set to main cockpit, and not set to main cockpit. A group of 3 of us are playing a dedicated server, and while person A and B have their ships docked (nobody in cockpit) to a station, and player C docks. player C assumes control of A's and B's sh ips, even after leaving the station. SOS!
