Small Grid Ship Forgets That it's Flying

Won't Fix

Hello!

So unfortunately I'm not too sure how to reproduce the bug itself, however I can walk you through a step by step of what I did prior to and during the bug, (I've tried many times to reproduce it, but nothing has worked so far).

Step 1: Made a hydrogen fueled ship, with adequate power, thrusters, and conveyor connections, i.e. it could - and should with no issue - be able to fly.

Step 2: Grouped the hydrogen tanks, hydrogen thrusters, and batteries together set to "Stockpile On/Off," "Toggle Block On/Off," and "Recharge On/Off" respectively.

Step 3: Connected the ship to my base, turned everything off, and powered everything down.

The Bug:

Step 1: Got into the cockpit, and turned everything on. Disconnected from the base and flew off.

Step 2: This is where things got weird; the hydrogen thrusters had no "On" animation, but the ship still flew. When I stopped moving, the ship fell out of the sky like it lost power or fuel or something, and crashed into my base, but caused no damage to the base, itself, or produced any collision based animations.

Step 3: I moved. The moment I input any movement command; wasd, space, c, roll/strafe, it IMMEDIATELY snaps back to the position you would expect the ship to be in, until I stopped inputting movement, at which the ship crashed to the planet again.

Info:

-Small grid ship.

-Multiplayer, (Likely a server issue, but wasn't resolved by resetting the server).

-Built on Titan.

-Is not resolved by completely restarting Space Engineers, the server, or my PC.

Attached - hopefully - below is a video recording of the event.

If the link does not work, please let me know and I will resolve the issue to the best of my abilities.

Hello!
Thank you for the information, video and the steps to reproduce it. Is it possible you could supply the save and blueprint to help me reproduce this easier?

  • Saves
  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

  • Blueprints

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.
