Single player game fails to update mods

Zach shared this bug 6 years ago
Won't Fix

When I try to launch my single player world it first attempts to check for mod updates but never succeeds and prevents the game from launching.

You may be able to get around this if you clear out your %appdata%\Space Engineers\Mods folder. You may also have to just delete the .sbm files for dependencies. For instance, if you use Easy Inventory, you may have to delete its dependency, Text HUD API, from your mods folder AND your modlist in your world settings. I've had mixed luck, but in general, you have to do it EVERY time you load that file (it does this on DS, too...)

How do I go about doing that? I found the .sbm files, but they are all unreadable and have no way to distinguish them, how do I know which ones to delete?

And if I clear out my mods folder, will I have to go find them again?

  • CLOSE Space Engineers
  • Windows Key or Windows Explorer
  • Type/Navigate to: %appdata%
  • Navigate to folders: Space Engineers/Mods
  • Delete them all
  • Reload Space Engineers and mods will download fresh

However, this bug DOES exist.

Hello, Engineers!

As this thread is rather old now, as well as last comments here, can I ask if any of you are still experiencing it nowadays (v197.181)?

If yes, is the behavior still the very same or did it change with the time? If not, I will close this thread.

Thanks for letting me know.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineers!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
